- 64-bit Windows 8 does require 2GB+ of memory. That is a requirement stated by Microsoft for 64-bit, so hardly comes as a surprise. The more yuou can give it, the better, of course, but you will hit the usual trouble if you allocate over half the host memory available.
- 2+ VCPUs are not mandatory, however, for intensive tasks, obviously 2 virtual CPU’s will perform better than 1.
- Win8 DP/CP works fine with SATA disks in general. It’s simply not true that IDE is required.
